Following a very enjoyable Rounders Competition in the summer, which Charlotte was invited to umpire at Barrowden Cricket Club, the Welland Fosse Group of Churches has challenged the Oakham Team Ministry to a Unihoc Competition on the afternoon of Sunday 17 February, to take place at North Luffenham School Hall from 2–5pm.
This promises to be good fun and attract a welcome crowd of spectators as well as players, to what is as much a social occasion as sporting one! So we are looking to recruit at least two teams, from the Oakham Team. Any parish or persons who wish to take part should appoint a captain and find a team of six players; three male, three female, half of which must be under15. (The age limit is important as Unihoc is a contact sport). Equipment will be provided (plastic sticks and a puck). Players should wear soft shoes. Spectators will add to the afternoon, and those who bring cakes or offer to make tea will be especially welcome.
Please put me in touch with your chosen captain – by email preferably, or let me have names and emails of players who would like to be in a team. No previous experience is necessary.
