The new Electoral Roll stands at 214 – 73 less than the previous roll, but including 34 new names, and there are a number of forms which have come in after the meeting and will be added at the next PCC meeting. After over 50 years, Richard Davies retires as Electoral Roll Officer and a volunteer is urgently needed. New to the PCC for the next three years are Patsy Clifton and Pam Gilbert. A further vacancy could be filled by co-option for a year – volunteer needed. Similarly, Deanery Synod has two vacancies for a year – see how the wider Church in Rutland and beyond works – volunteers needed. Finance continues to have its demands, but thanks to donations from Church Hall and sterling work by fund-raising committee, we just broke even in 2018. Huge demands will be made on the Fabric Fund over the next four years as major works – louvres (now done), crumbling masonry, N Transept windows, sums in the region of £100,000 altogether – must be progressed. Our Treasurer of many years, Peter Hill, wishes to hand on the mantle by end of 2019 – a volunteer please. Conscious of the discomfort of many in the congregation, improved lighting and an upgraded or new audio system are items on your PCC’s ‘wish-list’ and quotations are in hand, but our priorities have to be the QI work. I hope you see a common theme emerging here: volunteers and money. So I include the prayer that Revd Stephen used to close the meeting: Grant us, O Lord, as your fellow workers, humility and self-effacement in our service together, the art of listening to one another, the readiness to accept the team’s decisions, an understanding of our different characters, and the ability to maintain creative relationships. We ask this in the name of our one master, Jesus Christ. Amen.
