By now many of you will know that Michael Hinman died during the night of Tuesday 20 August. It has come as a shock to us all, especially as Michael was still so active. We don’t yet know for certain the reason for his sudden decline in health.
On Sunday 18 August he led intercessions at the 10.30am service and led and preached at evensong at All Saints Oakham. He was faithful in Christian ministry to the very end.
Michael served with distinction as a Reader across the parishes of the Oakham Team Ministry and further afield in the Rutland Deanery.
He had strong links with Holy Trinity Coventry where he had been part of Bishop Graham Dow’s ministry team in the 1980s. Michael was highly regarded as an archivist and historian, and was deeply rooted in the county he loved.
His funeral will be on Tuesday 10 September 11.30am at All Saints Oakham. Please come and celebrate Michael’s life at this service as we thank God for all that he shared with us. Michael has completed his earthly journey and is now called home to be with the Lord he loved.
