Langham News – October 2017

The clock on the church spire is at very long last looking like a clock again. Whilst waiting for repairs to be done last year the very high winds brought the clock face dangerously down into the churchyard. Now the insurance and funds are in order, the hands are back on and the mechanism in place. It just remains to see it in operation.

September has seen the usual services in place, alternatively with our Reader taking Extended Communion and with a visiting priest, most commonly one who has ‘retired’. How fortunate we are to be part of a Team whilst Julie is getting slowly back into the saddle.

By the time this is read we will have had the Wine Tasting evening and our Harvest Thanksgiving. November will be a quiet month. However, on December 16th (Yes, Christmas is yet again on the horizon) we plan a village Christmas evening with carols for all, solo items, instruments, spoken interludes, and, of course, mulled wine and mince pies. Anyone who would like to contribute an item, spoken or musical, please let me know – I would be delighted to hear from you. (01572 770234)
