On Saturday 7th October, there was a double celebration for the Griffin family when two of Richard Griffin‘s grandchildren were baptised at St Andrew’s by Canon Lee Francis-Dehqani; Thomas Tristan Taylor, son of Richard and Joanna and Barnaby Samuel Griffin, son of Thomas and Josephine.

On Sunday 8th October, Wilberforce and Huckleberry Young, sons of Andrew and Pippa were also baptised by Canon Lee Francis-Dehqani.

Also on Sunday 8th, St Andrew’s, which was decorated beautifully for the occasion, held its annual Harvest Festival Service. The Service was led by Canon Lee Francis-Dehqani and Reverend Charlotte Osborn.

In her Sermon, Reverend Charlotte Osborn spoke of the different Harvest Services she had attended throughout her life starting with her childhood in Norfolk. A collection for Water Aid raised £264.

Following the Service, 50 villagers enjoyed a Harvest Supper of Miranda Hall’s tasty chicken pie (the chickens were donated by Andrew and Jill Nelson). Also generously donated by Villagers, were a selection of delicious homemade desserts. After the Supper, a vast array of homemade and homegrown items which included marmalades, chutneys, fudges and jams were auctioned by Jeff Dale and raised £1000 for church funds.

At 9.15am on Sunday 12th November, there will be a Service of Remembrance at St Andrew’s.

At 5pm on Sunday 10th December there will be a Carol Service and Christingle at St Andrew’s.
