Gift Bags for Homeless

The Foodbank have been thinking about how they might provide for homeless people, and this is a list that Heather has compiled from suggestions and looking at websites.

The main concern is how much they can carry and keep dry.

Socks, gloves, scarves, hats, t-shirts (as vests), boxer shorts;
Kendal mint cake, energy bars, chocolate, chewing gum (mouth refresher), food vouchers e.g. Costa, MacDonalds etc;
Plasters, wet wipes, antiseptic wipes, hand sanitizer, lip salve, athletes foot cream;
Water bottle, torch (not battery!), stamped envelope and writing paper;
Pen, soap, flannel, toothpaste and brush, deodorant, comb, ear plugs;
Small holding cross and short bible verse, Beano comic, book;
Waterproof drawstring bag and small polythene bags to keep everything in;
Clothes and shoes also needed but storage needs to be considered.

If this is something you might be interested in being involved in, please speak to Heather Day (01780 410539) or Charlotte Osborn. [10/12/17]
