Friends of All Saints

all_saints_friendsThe Friends of All Saints’ Church, Oakham is a charitable organisation established in 1993. Anyone who would like to be associated with All Saints’ Church is welcome to join our lively and friendly group of people. You do not have to attend church or live in the parish.

The Friends organise a calendar of visits and social events for its members. Typically it could include:

Visits – to interesting local churches / places of interest; somewhere with a literary association; coach trips to a cathedral / place of interest; a pantomime trip.

Socials – a lunch with a speaker; the All Saints’ Tide Dinner or Lunch; the Shrovetide Party; occasionally a concert or musical event.

They provide guide books, postcards and other publications for sale to visitors to the church.

From any monies raised The Friends are able to assist in the preservation, maintenance and improvement of the church buildings and churchyard and to promote public interest in the church and its work in the community.

Membership costs £5. Application forms can be found on The Friends Notice Stand. Further details can be obtained from Beryl Kirtland (01572 724103 or beryl.kirtland@oakhamteam.org.uk)

Membership cards with full details of the forthcoming year’s events are issued in March, and are listed below, with regular updates in the pew notices, and on ’The Friends’ notice board near the North Door and on the website.

Members of The Friends have priority in booking for events, but non-members are welcome if there is sufficient space remaining.
