A massive thank you to all who made contributions, sponsored hampers, packed hampers and volunteered in any capacity over the festive period. 170 hampers were assembled conveyor belt style in record time at the Oakham food bank then handed out to voucher holders at both Uppingham and Oakham along with drinks and seasonal food.
19 families including 50 children from local schools were given packs to help them with the additional costs of the holidays.
The food bank itself was busy too so all in all a real feeling of making a real difference to people who otherwise would have struggled.
The Foodbank is currently short of the following items – long-life fruit juice, packets of Smash, sponge puddings and long-life milk. We have plenty of porridge oats at the moment.
