Launde Abbey is hosting a series of three advent themed evenings and everyone is welcome to attend any or all of the evenings, as follows:

Thursday 30th November 6:15pm – Explore the themes of Compassion and Friendship with Revd Helen Newman (booking not required), with the option to enjoy one another’s company afterwards at the 7:30pm Launde Food Night with dishes from around the world (£16 per head for 2 courses, advanced booking essential on 01572 717254).

Wednesday 6th December 8:00pm – Gather for candlelit prayer, scripture, song and silence inspired by the multicultural, monastic Taizé community in France and led by Emily Walker, followed by hot chocolate and cake (booking not required).

Thursday 14th December 7.30pm – Explore the themes of Listening and Hoping with Revd David Newman, followed by seasonal refreshments (booking not required).

Helen Newman was the Chaplain at local hospice, LOROS, before becoming Chaplain at Launde Abbey this March. Emily Walker is a church musician and liturgist working in Leicester and across the UK and has previously worked for the Iona Community as Abbey Musician. David Newman was Archdeacon of Loughborough until appointed Warden of Launde Abbey in March this year. All three have led retreats and courses at Launde, share a deep love of the place and very much look forward to sharing this Advent with you.
