The Oakham Team Ministry is situated in the north-west corner of the ancient county of Rutland, close to the picturesque Rutland Water, and approximately 30 miles from the cities of Leicester and Peterborough to the west and east respectively. The Team includes Oakham, the county town of Rutland, and nine surrounding villages – Whissendine, Teigh, Ashwell and Market Overton in the north, and Langham, Braunston, Brooke, Hambleton and Egleton in the south.
The Team
The Oakham Team is part of the Diocese of Peterborough in the church of England. There are three clergy within the Team. The Team Rector, who is also the Vicar of Oakham, looks after the churches in Oakham and Langham, and two team vicars look after the northern parishes (Whissendine, Teigh, Ashwell and Market Overton) and the southern parishes (Braunston, Brooke, Hambleton and Egleton).
In the churches of the Team, God has been worshipped for almost a thousand years, and we continue to do so today, through our regular pattern of services and prayers. All the churches continue to play an important role at the heart of their communities offering both a community space for meetings and concerts, and regular social activities.
