Jesus’ healing ministry was a natural part of his everyday ministry, yet the church has developed the habit of treating healing as something out of the ordinary – perhaps because as medical science has increased, our approach to healing tends to over-emphasise the physical and neglect the emotional and spiritual. Wholeness includes mind, spirit, and body, and some would argue that the body is the least important. If you disagree read Eye can write by Jonathan Bryan, an amazing book which I was given for Christmas, and see if your perspective changes.

As a way forward in making healing ministry more a part of our everyday ministry a new venture is beginning in the Oakham Team Ministry – every 2nd Sunday at 4pm there will be a simple healing communion service with the opportunity for anointing, prayer ministry and the laying on of hands, starting this Sunday 13 January at Whissendine Church. All are welcome, and refreshments will be served prior to the service. If you would like to know more about this then please either contact me, Revd Deborah Marsh, Alan & Gail Rudge, Patrick & Marjorie Wilson, or just come along…
