Losing a loved one by death is painful. The grief may feel unbearable, complicated, last longer than you expect, or reappear later, perhaps in response to an anniversary or another source of stress.

Come and Chat Bereavement Support Group

The Come and Chat Bereavement Support Group has restarted now Covid restrictions have eased. It meets on the last Friday of the month from 10.30 – 12.00noon in the Parish Hall opposite All Saints Oakham (LE15 6AA). It is open to all who can travel to it, regardless of faith or when your loss happened. Come and share a cuppa and talk to trained volunteers and others who are also on the long road after bereavement. We can listen and signpost you to other services in the area. There is no need to book, just turn up on the day.

One to One Support

All Saints has a small team of trained and commissioned volunteers who have a limited capacity for  home visits to the bereaved. This service is open to those of all faiths or none, living in the Oakham Team Ministry area. The loss can be recent or years ago.

If a confidential and kindly listening ear might help, then please fill in self-referral form and send it to the Parish office or give it to a member of the Ministry Team or one of the Bereavement Support Team. This form will ensure we get details correct, match you to a suitable visitor, and that you consent to being visited. We will not use any information on the form for any other purpose. Remembering

Those who have recently died are prayed for, by name, in our services, and we also pray for those mourning their loss. First anniversary cards are sent to the next of kin listed in our church registers, to let people know they and their loved ones are remembered. Our churches also hold special Remembrance Ser5vices for all who have died around the time of All Souls (November 2nd). Look for details in our weekly newsletters.
