Our major event is the Christmas Tree Festival. It kicks off with a Gala evening on December 2nd at 7:30pm in the church. Music will be provided by Jackie Morrison. On Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th the church will be open to view the Christmas trees from 10:00am to 6.00pm. There will be live music playing throughout, also crafts, tombola etc. in the Village Hall. Refreshments will be available all day.
At 6:00pm on the Sunday there is to be the normal Word, Worship and Response service to which all are welcome.
The Crib Service on Christmas Eve at 5:30pm is always particularly well attended with the children who come dressed to represent people from the Christmas story. One year we had Batman, but found it necessary to find an unusual slot for him – we did, of course.
The “Midnight” service is at 11:15pm – it might be worth coming a little early as there is a possibility of mulled wine.
There is no daytime service in our church on Christmas Day, but many in other churches in the Team.
The Bell-Ringers service will take place as usual on 1st January at 11:00am.
There will be no Church@4 services during January, February and March. There is to be a re-think about best form, time and even place for these. Until now they have largely been child centred, but anything may now be planned! Watch this space.
